Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television presenter in the US as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond locks and a lively persona, shows how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York eateries, learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born living in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree and a Communications diploma from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. While in Italy the chef developed an appreciation for and understanding of Italian cuisine. It had a significant influence on her perception of food. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids who have challenges. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity in the capacity of mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion of and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
