Thora Birch
Thora Birch, born March 11, 1982 was an American actress. In 1988 she made her feature debut in a film with Purple People Eater. For the performance, she was awarded a Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age". Birch became a cult a child star and was featured in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive an BAFTA nomination. The following year, she was a part-time actress in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for her performance in the lead role in Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story. Birch has also been a part of Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma in season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch who's family was named Biersch is German-Jewish, and Scandinavian. She also is French-Canadian French-Canadian and Italian heritage. [6] The name Thora, which she has adopted, is an abbreviation of Thora, the Norse god thunder and lightning ("Thor") and could be her name had she were a young boy. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents played actors in adult-oriented films and starred in Deep Throat. They were hesitant to promote Thora because of their experiences in the entertainment industry. However, a babysitter noticed Thora acting out commercials, and convinced them to display Thora's photograph to agents. Birch received her first major break at the age of four, when the babysitter took her to an audition for a Quaker Oats commercial.
