Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker (born August 2, 1964) is an American actress. After making her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she received an Tony Award nomination), Parker became famous for her roles in films such as Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) as well as The Maker (1997). Parker received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Actress In the same Play in 2001 for her performance as Catherine Llewellyn, in David Auburn's Proof. She was a part of Amy Gardner on NBC's television series The West Wing from 2001 to 2006. The role she played was so successful that she was nominated in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series. For her performance in the role of Harper Pitt in the HBO miniseries Angels in America, she won the Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. She was also awarded an award for her performance in the series, a Primetime Emmy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2006, Parker was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. In 2007 Parker received three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actress in Comedy Series. She also received the Golden Globe Award in 2006 for Best Actress in Red (2010) and Red. (2013), and Red 2 (2012). Parker was back on Broadway to play the lead role in The Sound Inside in 2019 where she received her second Tony Award as Best Actress in a Play. Parker is a regular contributor for Esquire magazine since 2007 before launching Dear Mr. You in 2015. She was the main character of Roma Guy in the ABC TV miniseries "When We Rise" in 2017. In 2018, she served as an advisor to the political on Billions which is the Showtime show.
