Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora is a British music producer and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. At the age of one, her family made the decision to move to England. She was born in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School at Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She started singing as a child. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. The film featured her audition for Eurovision The Country That Needs You, a British contestant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However, she pulled out of the contest after just a few episodes due to the fact that she didn't feel ready. In 2007, Ora got her first music album when she performed on the track by Craig David entitled "Awkward" and then again in 2008 on "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. For this track, she is also featured in the music video. Ora started singing in bars throughout London and in 2009 A&R reported to Roc Nation about Ora, just a few days following Ora took a flight to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's 2009 music video for "Young Forever" as well as "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z took note of Ora and shrewdly signed her to Roc Nation. She was the subject of a commercial featuring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik owned a pub and she started her career as a singer from the pub. Gwen Stefani was her major influence. Her father was a bar manager and she started singing in the same bar. She is friends with Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
