Kari Matchett Biography
Kari Matchett (Canadian actress) is famous for her roles in
movies like Apartment Hunting' and Men with Brooms'. Born in Spalding,
Saskatchewan and raised in the area, she later moved to Alberta where she
completed high school. During her teenage years she began to develop an an
interest in acting. She attended Montreal's National Theatre School to continue
her acting training. In Moscow, she was also enrolled in the Moscow Theatre
School. In 1996, she made her television debut as a supporting role in the
Canadian series called 'The Rez. She was a part of shows like 'Forever Knight'
'Ready or Not?' and many others in the in the same year. Also, she made her
film debut in the latter part of 1990 in the form of a film called 'Papertrail'
and later acted in films like 'Men with Brooms' and 'Cypher.' She also was a
supporting character in television series' like 'A Nero Wolfe Mystery' and Blue Murder.' The actress was also in film
through the 2000s, but her film appearances were much less than her TV roles.
She was also the main actress in 1998's Canadian drama series called 'Power
Play. The series ran for 2 seasons and had 26 episodes. It received praise from
critics and the public at large. For her role in the show, she was nominated as
an Gemini Award nominee. Jude Lyon Matchett was her first child. But she did
not divulge the name of her son’s father. Some sources claim that her
ex-boyfriend is father to her son. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke and T.W.
Peacocke. They began dating in the mid-1990s. The couple got married in 1998.
The wedding was a disaster and the couple split from each other in 2006.
